Global Orthopaedics at Johns Hopkins

Global Orthopaedics at Johns Hopkins (GO-JH) is an initiative to improve orthopaedic care across the world. We aim to promote safe, timely, accessible and affordable orthopaedic surgical care to achieve global health equality. We plan to do this by building partnerships in research, education and patient care within Johns Hopkins, nationally and internationally.

Develop a robust global orthopaedic collaborative at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Bringing Orthopaedic Care to Disadvantaged Populations

Operation Walk Maryland, established by Johns Hopkins orthopaedic surgeon Harpal Khanuja, and his wife, Maria, a nurse practitioner, has provided free hip and knee replacement surgeries to disadvantaged patients in Ecuador, El Salvador, India and Peru since 2007.

Our program allows those interested in participating in cutting-edge research and training opportunities to work alongside orthopaedic leaders who have studied and taught orthopaedics globally.

We also host monthly journal clubs to discuss new and relevant articles in the field of global orthopaedics.
